As the R&D Control Hardware Team Lead at ABB in Switzerland, you will oversee a team of experts specialising in the development and management of control hardware for Medium Voltage Drives. This hybrid role involves leading a team responsible for PCBAs, electronics, FPGA solutions, and auxiliary control systems, contributing to the Motion High Power Solutions portfolio. You will collaborate closely with Product Management, Service, and Product Engineering teams, ensuring efficient operations and effective line management.
Tasks
- Manage, guide, and supervise a team of control hardware and firmware experts responsible for Medium Voltage Drives.
- Coordinate activities related to the electronics development process, including requirements engineering, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance.
- Ensure effective and efficient operational procedures in all dealings with other local and global R&D and engineering teams.
- Perform line management duties such as hiring, HR development, and coordination of various tasks at the team level.
Requirements
- A strong background in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.
- Demonstrated experience in PCBA and electronics development is essential.
- Several years of experience in project management and/or electronics development are required.
- Well-developed organisational and strategic abilities are necessary.
- Strong interpersonal and people management skills are expected.
- Excellent command of English is required, with German preferred.
