Tasks

  • Execute service work on rolling stock and energy storing systems with low to medium complexity according to work instructions and ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines.
  • Cooperate closely with customers and other ABB teams, acting as the technical point while delivering quality and satisfying customer service.
  • Provide routine maintenance and on-site or remote technical support.
  • Perform service tasks such as installation and commissioning of equipment, identifying technical problems, and making analysis through remote or on-site activity in different service categories (installation and commissioning, routine maintenance, extensions, replacements).
  • Consult with and advise customers on the best service solutions in accordance with standard processes, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Create and maintain strong relationships with customers, appreciating their needs, and providing specialist assistance and solutions.
  • Coordinate and execute specialist projects through planning, meeting milestones, and regular reviews.
  • Troubleshoot simple equipment failure and make recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future.
  • Identify opportunities to develop new service applications, equipment, and methods.

Requirements

  • Four years of experience in electrical work, testing, maintenance, or service, working as test- or commissioning engineer with power electronics or on electrical vehicles.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in servicing, maintaining, commissioning, and repairing of power electronic products.
  • Ability to travel worldwide (approximately 50 days domestic and 30 days international travel).
  • Proven leadership skills, with a collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • A technician or engineer bachelor’s degree in electrotechnics.
  • Required language skills: fluent German, French, and English.
