This six-month internship at ABB Corporate Research gives you hands-on experience and the chance to make a real impact in a multidisciplinary environment.
Your tasks
- Operate and support polymer 3D printing processes using advanced industrial equipment for prototyping and making functional parts.
- Help design, develop, and assemble battery test systems, including creating new cell holders, building fixtures, and supporting laser-welding jig work.
- Assist with test maintenance, start-up activities, and experimental campaigns by collecting, processing, and analyzing test data.
- Prepare for battery safety tests, including setting up and integrating sensing and measurement equipment.
- Support ongoing research on new battery technologies by helping with experiments and keeping documentation.
What you bring
- You are currently studying for a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field.
- You are interested in battery energy storage and advanced technologies.
- You have experience with CAD and additive manufacturing.
- You have some hands-on lab experience and know how to use Python (preferred).
- You speak English well.
- You are eager to learn new things, take initiative, and can explain your ideas clearly.
- You are available for a six-month internship (start and end dates are flexible).
- If you are a non-EU/EFTA citizen, your university must confirm that this internship is a required part of your studies for visa purposes.
