Your tasks
- Work with the Materials team to support research projects focused on metals, alloys, and metal matrix composites for innovative switchgear products
- Prepare alloys and metal matrix composites and help improve lab-scale manufacturing processes
- Analyze materials and engineering prototypes using metallography, optical microscopy, and other lab techniques to understand how process parameters affect microstructure and material performance
- Evaluate and document data, and present your findings to the team
What you bring
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Materials Science/Engineering or a related field (at least six semesters completed); official enrollment required
- Basic knowledge of metals, metal matrix composites, and related processing technologies, with interest in learning more
- Experience in specimen preparation by metallography and microstructure analysis by light microscopy; enjoyment of laboratory work
- Experience in powder metallurgy, sintering, brazing, or experimental methods (such as XRD, SEM, EDX, EBSD, Hardness) is a plus
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); German is an advantage
