This six-month internship starts in August or September 2026 at ABB's research center in Switzerland. You will work onsite with experts on future energy technologies using sustainable polymer materials.
Your tasks
- Take part in technology development projects with a focus on sustainable thermoplastic and thermoset polymers
- Help optimize how materials are processed and cured in the lab
- Test and measure thermal, mechanical, and electrical properties of polymer materials
- Study surface wettability and how materials age under stress
- Do recycling experiments to support a circular polymer economy
- Analyze and record experimental data, present results to the project team, and join technical discussions
What you bring
- You are officially enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Chemistry, Materials Science/Engineering, or a related field (at least six semesters completed)
- You understand and are interested in polymer materials
- You have basic knowledge about polymers (a plus)
- You have experience working in a laboratory and using experimental methods
- You are motivated, able to work independently, and act responsibly
- You can speak and write English fluently; German is an advantage
