Tasks

  • Implements the sales strategy and drives the sales process in Hydropower and industries in collaboration with the Local Division Sales Manager and the Business Line Sales Manager Europe.
  • Generates sales opportunities and secures profitable sales for ABB’s Energy Industries Division and its Business Line Power Reliability in Switzerland.
  • Builds long-term customer relationships and ensures immediate response to specific customer needs and issues.
  • Focuses on new greenfield projects, as well as on Installed Base (IB) and brownfield penetration.
  • Sells the entire solutions portfolio (automation, excitation, protection, electrification, grid code compliance studies, and digital solutions) in collaboration with other ABB units.
  • Acts as a marketer/salesperson of ABB’s products and solutions during marketing activities such as campaigns, trade fairs, exhibitions, conferences, and customer meetings.
  • Establishes long-term customer relationships by understanding their requirements and translating them into relevant ABB offerings and solutions.
  • Understands the channel strategy and the establishment of related prices.
  • Prepares sales plans, reviews them, and proposes recovery plans when needed.

Requirements

  • Experience in business development, technical sales, or bids and proposals, ideally within the power generation, automation, electrification, or industrial sectors.
  • Strong solution selling and value proposition creation abilities, with cybersecurity and digital solutions acumen.
  • Strong understanding of project dynamics and Installed Base (IB) concepts, and confidently promoting value‑adding solutions.
  • Skilled in identifying, developing, and securing sales opportunities based on customer needs and market trends.
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong communication and negotiation skills, building long‑term customer relationships and responding quickly and professionally to customer issues.
  • Willingness to travel as required (up to 50%).
  • Ability to fluently communicate in German and English; additional languages are an advantage (French).
