Join us and help run what runs the world. This role contributes to Mining & Materials Plant Automation within Process Industries in Switzerland. The work model for the role is hybrid.

Tasks

  • Act as technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments.
  • Ensure activities related to engineering disciplines within the project are executed efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Provide technical support to commissioning and start-up activities.
  • Act as design authority for engineering deliverables and technical solutions towards internal organisation, customers and authorities.
  • Work closely with customers to shape and deliver solutions, actively seeking feedback to drive and deliver improvements.
  • Assist project managers in scope control, risk and opportunity assessments, implementing improvements and mitigation actions.
  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate all engineering disciplines (both in-house and outsourced) on projects of high/medium complexity.
  • Collaborate on project installation, commissioning, and site activities to clarify potential issues or provide solutions to rectify engineering errors.
  • Provide technical details, cost calculations, and deliverables definition for sales proposals.

Requirements

  • Highly skilled in large-scale process automation DCS such as ABB 800xA or comparable systems and the relevant market.
  • 8-10 years of experience in engineering and commissioning in large-scale process automation projects.
  • At least 2 years in a lead engineer role overseeing teams of 5-10 engineers covering software and electrical engineering.
  • Enhanced knowledge of IEC 61850, TCP/IP networks, fieldbus protocols like Profibus/Net, Modbus TCP/RTU, OPC.
  • Ability to apply cybersecurity practices in accordance with the IEC 62443 standard framework.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to cooperate, negotiate, and reach agreement with customers and suppliers.
  • Collaborative, solution-oriented approach with strong written and spoken communication skills.
  • Experience in power and energy management systems, related software and hardware design, and engineering practices, codes, and standards.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, industrial automation, or related technical field.
  • Proficiency in English.
