The AO is a medically guided, not-for-profit organization, a global network of surgeons, and the world's leading education, innovation, and research organization specializing in the surgical treatment of trauma and musculoskeletal disorders. The AO Innovation Translation Center (AO ITC) streamlines and drives innovation projects, including the development of clinical solutions, innovation gathering, proof-of-concept studies, strategic investment, and evidence creation through clinical research. Clinical Operations is the AO’s service provider for clinical research, delivering clinical insights that enable better patient care by planning and conducting global clinical trials.

Tasks

  • Conduct (systematic) literature reviews and review manuscript-specific literature
  • Develop manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals according to guidelines
  • Responsible for the entire online submission and resubmission processes
  • Critically appraise publications and other documents
  • Prepare congress abstracts and presentations as required
  • Write internal reports as needed, focusing on study-specific final and interim reports according to AO ITC CE style
  • Perform literature reviews as needed
  • Audit the final data analysis set in collaboration with responsible internal partners
  • Support in the development of AO ITC clinical investigation documents
  • Review and provide copy editing service as required
  • Support AO ITC CE's efforts in general, including providing English language support
  • Provide other ad hoc medical writing services, including supporting AO education programs
  • Perform all tasks in alignment with ISO 9001 quality management standard and contribute to maintaining and improving the quality system
  • Undertake additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by the line manager to support operational and organizational needs related to the Quality Management System

Requirements

  • Minimally a Master of Science degree in a biomedical field, preferably an advanced degree (MD, DVM, or PhD)
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in clinical research and medical writing
  • Experience with basic statistical methods (univariable tests)
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Attention to detail and reliability
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Flexibility and customer-focused mindset
  • Responsible and reliable, able to adhere to timelines
  • English as native language or advanced level proficiency
