The team has delivered groundbreaking human-centric vision technologies used by millions worldwide, such as Persona for Apple Vision Pro, Portrait Mode, FaceTime Eye Contact, Animoji, and ARKit. We are seeking a senior Machine Learning engineer passionate about shaping the future of Apple products and contributing to transformative Computer Vision experiences.

Tasks

  • Work on next generation video and motion analysis and synthesis projects in the Machine Learning and Computer Vision research and development team in Zurich, Switzerland.
  • Combine modern Machine Learning approaches with geometric knowledge from Computer Vision and Computer Graphics.
  • Improve existing technology and develop new approaches to enhance device interaction.
  • Integrate tightly with the hardware platform and influence its design for fast, power-efficient, and accurate products.
  • Own product-relevant features, lead projects as an innovator and technical expert, and assume responsibility for architectural decisions.
  • Set direction for future products with impact beyond organizational boundaries.

Requirements

  • In-depth understanding of Machine Learning principles.
  • In-depth understanding of 3D Geometry, Motion Synthesis, and Computer Vision.
  • Strong understanding of generative models and/or multi-modal foundation models.
  • Experience working on large-scale projects with good software development principles.
  • Experience in a lead architect role, leading large-scale projects and influencing product directions.
  • Experience in Python, deep learning, and data analysis frameworks (PyTorch, pandas, and similar).
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English.
  • 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Publication record at top conferences such as CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, NeurIPS, or SIGGRAPH is a plus.
  • PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, Data Science, or equivalent.
  • Willingness to pick up novel tasks and acquire new skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Scientific mindset and data-driven approach to problem solving.
