As the Head of Strategic Finance Projects, you will play a key role in reshaping global finance operations at Avaloq. You will connect Finance, IT, and broader business teams to ensure that systems meet current needs and support future growth and efficiency. Beyond ERP consolidation and advancement, you will drive other strategic initiatives vital for Avaloq's overall success.

Tasks

  • Establish a robust project management structure for Finance and implement industry-standard methodologies to ensure consistent delivery across the portfolio.
  • Develop detailed project plans to ensure all milestones are met on schedule and within budget.
  • Track performance, implement corrective actions, and conduct rigorous post-project evaluations.
  • Independently execute key projects with a global team and optimized resource allocation, ensuring best quality, time, and budget.
  • Architect and lead the end-to-end project lifecycle for consolidating two legacy on-prem systems into a single, cohesive cloud-based solution.
  • Act as a change agent, leading the Finance function into a modern, automated, and scalable digital environment.
  • Champion the "simplification first" principle by challenging existing complexities to build lean, efficient processes.
  • Ensure new systems provide real-time insights, enabling Finance to act as a strategic advisor to the wider business.
  • Foster a culture within Finance that embraces industry-standard technology and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and mentor the strategic projects team to boost performance and professional growth, encouraging innovative thinking and problem-solving.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, gather feedback, and lead meetings to promote transparency and set clear expectations.
  • Develop and execute communication plans to keep the organization engaged and provide training to ensure smooth adoption of new systems.

Requirements

  • Strong proven track record of working in a similar role, ideally within a banking software provider.
  • Strong experience of ERP platforms, such as SAP, including implementations, upgrades, and finance modules.
  • Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional projects, managing timelines, budget, risks, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Evidence of leading at least one full ERP migration to the cloud for the full project life-cycle.
  • Strong conceptual thinking skills and proficiency in data analysis and visualisation.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts in an easy-to-understand way to those that do not have technical backgrounds.
