As Head Reconciliation at Bank J. Safra Sarasin, you will lead the reconciliation framework with custodians and cash correspondents, ensuring the integrity of all transactions and positions and resolving discrepancies effectively. This role offers the opportunity to head a core function, drive process optimisation, and strengthen internal controls to safeguard the Bank's operational resilience and minimise risk. You will collaborate strategically with key stakeholders across the Bank and be fully accountable for the quality and efficiency of all reconciliation tasks.

Tasks

  • Lead the Reconciliation team, including resource planning, coaching, and ensuring seamless daily operations.
  • Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly cash and securities reconciliation processes, including verification of special holdings and physical securities, to ensure adherence to the highest quality standards.
  • Ensure systematic analysis and timely resolution of cash and security differences in close collaboration with specialised departments.
  • Drive the reconciliation strategy by leading process improvements, automation initiatives, and robust internal control frameworks to enhance efficiency and operational resilience.
  • Monitor outstanding items rigorously and compile weekly management reports to ensure full transparency on aging discrepancies.
  • Serve as the primary contact for external audits and coordinate internal reviews with the Risk Office and other control functions.
  • Execute strategic ad-hoc assignments and special projects delegated by management.

Requirements

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting or Controlling, or completed apprenticeship or similar banking education.
  • 5-7 years of practical experience in Operations, Backoffice, or Accounting within Financial Services.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
  • Avaloq experience is an advantage.
  • Ability to weigh problems and set priorities, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong work ethics, integrity, and high level of accountability.
  • Willingness to take responsibility.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Fluency in German and English.
