• Conducts and leads highly complex tasks without supervision, establishing sustainable solutions to prevent recurrence of issues.
• Defines analysis approaches to investigate mechanical design problems or verify solutions.
• Establishes and reviews analysis methods and creates mathematical models for static and dynamic FE analysis.
• Guides and coaches the team under technical supervision (3 to 4 team members).
• Performs test predictions, test evaluations, and correlations.
• Performs detailed stress and strength verification analysis.
• Leads analysis activities for a product family/portfolio during product development, production support, innovation, and project phases.
• Acts as the local technical authority in their field and first level of escalations.
• Proposes market-oriented initiatives to improve existing products, technologies, and production processes.
• Proactively communicates and aligns cross-functionally with adjacent engineering fields and departments such as operations, quality, procurement, and other disciplines.
• Supports processes and product continuous improvements to deliver in line with customer quality, cost, and demand.
• Writes and reviews technical documentation (e.g. test plans, analysis reports), project-related deliverables, and other specifications related to their field of work.
• Adapts to product- and mission-specific requirements.
• Owns technical, budget, and schedule responsibilities for fulfilment of tasks assigned by projects as Work package / Task Manager.
• Handles multiple tasks and coordinates the work of others within the discipline, setting priorities.
• Participates in NRBs (Non-Conformance Review Board) according to the NC process, actively proposing technical solutions and securing measures for root cause analyses, corrective and preventive measures, and implementing Lessons Learned.
• Represents their engineering field during negotiations and reviews with customers, suppliers, or subcontractors.
• Co-works in the bidding team for proposals, quotations, concept work, developments, and interdisciplinary collaboration in make-or-buy decisions (assessing schedule and cost estimates as well as technical roadmap).
• Builds and maintains relevant contact with external stakeholders.
• Responsible for coaching and skill enhancement within the discipline, identifying, managing, and maintaining associated competences.
• Leads training initiatives and develops learning materials.
• Coaches less experienced engineers and external employees and reviews their work, owning technical leadership function and ensuring standardization within their field of activity.
