In Global Employer Services, we support internationally mobile employees and executives as they work across borders, ensuring compliance with tax and social security regulations locally and internationally. As a Senior Tax Consultant focusing on Swiss Individual Tax, you will deliver comprehensive, tailored solutions for global clients, taking increased ownership and responsibility in client engagements and mentoring junior colleagues.
Tasks
- Take ownership from day one and be involved in client-facing activities in Swiss tax.
- Drive client engagement teams, steer tax compliance delivery, manage engagement finances, and provide regular outcome and risk reports to the manager.
- Integrate, mentor, and develop junior team members.
- Lead and manage Swiss and international tax compliance projects, including reviewing Swiss tax declarations and analyzing complex international tax and social security positions.
- Review advice tailored to each client, supported by thorough research and up-to-date knowledge of Swiss and international tax laws.
- Develop specific knowledge in Swiss national and international tax.
- Apply technical knowledge to challenging cases and assist in delivering presentations to clients and colleagues.
- Lead complex tax consulting briefings with clients on intricate cross-border assignments, providing clear, practical advice on Swiss tax and social security implications.
- Build and maintain client relationships as the primary point of contact, and coordinate with international teams on multi-jurisdictional matters.
Requirements
- Strong technical knowledge of Swiss national tax laws and international tax principles, including social security regulations related to cross-border mobility.
- Curiosity and proactive mindset with willingness to take ownership and drive projects forward independently.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly to clients and colleagues.
- Great analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and familiarity with tax software and digital tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, multicultural and fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in law, business, economics, finance or similar.
- 3–5 years' experience in individual taxation (Natürliche Personen) and social security law, gained in a trust/fiduciary practice, tax authority, social security administration or consulting firm.
- Preferred experience (non-mandatory): Experience in global mobility, expatriate or international tax advisory, including cross-border work for multinational clients.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Fluent in German and English.
- MS Office proficiency.
