As Data Architect, you work closely with product owners, data professionals, developers, and business stakeholders from finance and fraud. You turn customer feedback into actionable insights within the Order Management Area, advise on architectural design decisions, and translate company-wide goals into clear team objectives.

Tasks

  • Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to understand the data architectural landscape within the company
  • Advise on best practices for technical decisions within the team that align with the company goals
  • Communicate and present updates across the company to the team, and convert these updates into actionable goals
  • Drive and expand data science and analytics engineering initiatives within the Finance area, enhancing capabilities and impact
  • Contribute to the community of Data Scientists and Analytics Engineers at Digitec Galaxus by enhancing models, codebase and platform
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes to enhance productivity and effectiveness
  • Take calculated risks to create value and drive growth

Requirements

  • Completed degree (university / university of applied science / higher technical college) in Data Architecture or Data Science
  • Master's degree or higher in a data-focused field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics)
  • 10+ years ML-driven Data Architecture in Finance & Fraud (E-Commerce)
  • 10+ years of experience with creating actionable insight from data, preferably in a financial risk domain, 5+ of which in a senior role
  • Practical experience in applying machine learning techniques, particularly in fraud detection and credit risk is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with real-time and data streaming technologies would be advantageous
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts in a clear and relatable way to diverse audiences
  • Ability to coach and lead other Data Scientists and Analytics Engineers in best practices and technologies
  • Experience in making ETL architectural decisions for ML use cases in larger organisational settings, and up to date with the latest data technologies
  • Proven track record of projects in Python and SQL, and able to lead conversations around the optimal use of both
  • Experience deploying ML models on cloud platforms
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, EU AI act) and a commitment to maintaining high standards of data security
  • Experience with agile methodologies, effectively working within cross-functional teams and collaborating closely with product owners and business stakeholders
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and act as the interface between data and platform teams
  • Prioritises empathy and compassion in decision-making
  • Fluency in English is required
