This interdisciplinary coordination position focuses on climate adaptation to extreme events within the NCCR CLIM+ programme at ETH Zurich. The role supports Switzerland's transformation towards a climate-resilient society and involves working with stakeholders and the NCCR CLIM+ research community to develop actionable climate research solutions.

Tasks

  • Support coordination and integration across several storylines, including Financial stability and supply chains, Heat and health, and Climate tipping points and abrupt changes.
  • Act as a natural science and inter-/transdisciplinary research expert within a team of natural scientists, social scientists, and transdisciplinary researchers.
  • Support the choice of methods for science and transdisciplinary integration.
  • Publish results in scientific journals and present at national and international conferences.

Requirements

  • PhD degree in climate science, environmental sciences, meteorology, or a closely related field.
  • Experience in either inter- or transdisciplinary research and willingness to fully engage in both.
  • Motivation to co-develop tools and platforms for exchange.
  • Experience with climate modeling and processing of climate model data, climate attribution and climate projections, as well as financial and health impacts of climate change, and/or global climate tipping points is an asset.
  • Very good oral and written English communication skills.
  • Command of one of the Swiss national languages is desired.
  • Position can be filled at junior or senior postdoctoral level.
