The Electrochemical Energy Systems Laboratory in the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering at ETH Zurich invites applications for a position focused on light-driven CO2 capture. The group is developing a novel photoacid-based approach for efficient CO2 capture, optimizing both the local chemical environment in photoacids and their molecular structure to enhance sorption capacity and stability. Tasks
- Contribute to the development of a novel photoacid-based approach for efficient CO2 capture.
- Optimize the local chemical environment in photoacids and their molecular structure to enhance sorption capacity and stability.
Requirements
- PhD in Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field.
- Experience with in situ spectroscopy is a plus.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Self-driven, highly motivated, and strong teamwork skills.
- Expertise in organic synthesis and one or more of the following areas: Photochemistry, advanced characterization techniques (e.g., synchrotron facilities, in-situ methods), CO2 capture/utilization is a plus.
