Join a team at the forefront of robot intelligence, where you explore how robots can better understand and interact with the world. You will work with real-world robots and tackle big questions about learning, perception, and autonomy in complex environments.
Your tasks
- Lead and shape your own research agenda in mobile robotics, focusing on modern learning-based methods such as Foundation Models, VLMs, and VLA architectures for embodied intelligence.
- Supervise and drive high-impact research on the lab’s humanoid platform (Unitree G1), advancing sim-to-real transfer and semantic reasoning.
- Secure external funding with strong institutional support and build collaborations within the ETH ecosystem.
- Co-supervise PhD and Master’s students, supporting a culture of technical excellence and ambitious experimentation.
- Participate in teaching activities, including developing new teaching materials in robotics, perception, and autonomous systems.
What you bring
- PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field with impactful publications in top-tier venues (CORL, ICRA, RSS, NeurIPS, CVPR, etc.).
- Expert knowledge in modern Robot Learning.
- Strong skills in Python, C++, and modern tools such as IsaacLab and PyTorch.
- Motivated, self-driven, and eager to lead a team toward impactful robotics solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and a desire to mentor future researchers.
