The Swiss Mobility Panel team, a joint project by the IPEEP, SPUR, and IVT-TMP research groups, is seeking a Research Assistant to support ongoing longitudinal survey data collection projects. The project investigates public opinion dynamics in Switzerland regarding environmental, planning, and mobility preferences and behavior, as well as connections to other policy areas. The team uses a unique approach combining survey and geocoded data with survey experiments.
Tasks
- Program surveys in Qualtrics
- Create documentation such as questionnaires, codebooks, and technical reports
- Support the teams with data analysis and reporting to third party stakeholders such as SBB or AMAG
- Maintain the custom-made R package and provide support to the research teams
- Support panel management tasks such as data cleaning and data storage
Requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and German
- Programming skills in R
- Enrolled in a Bachelor or Master program at a Swiss university
- A strong command of R Markdown and Latex (desirable)
- Previous experience with Qualtrics (desirable)
- Willingness and motivation to further develop skills in R and Qualtrics, including programming and analysis of spatial data (desirable)
- Strong oral and written communication skills in French and/or Italian (desirable)
- Interest in public opinion research, environmental politics, and mobility/travel behaviour (desirable)
