Join Hilti as a Data Science Intern and help turn complex data into smart solutions that make a real impact on customer-facing products. You work with new technologies and a global team to solve real business problems and drive innovation in construction software and services. The internship lasts 6 to 12 months and has a flexible start date.
Your tasks
- Analyze data and create advanced analytics to support Hilti's products and services.
- Use statistical analysis, machine learning, and Generative AI to solve business challenges and improve decision-making.
- Design and build machine learning models, from feature engineering to interpretation.
- Explore and apply emerging ML and GenAI technologies.
- Work closely with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and Data Engineers to ensure models are ready for production and integrated into applications.
- Define data needs and ensure high-quality datasets.
- Deliver scalable and valuable data solutions that support Hilti’s long-term goals and benefit customers.
What you bring
- Currently studying for a Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic experience with machine learning, data preprocessing, and model evaluation, with interest in LLMs and Generative AI.
- Hands-on skills in Python and common AI/ML frameworks; curiosity to try tools like LangChain.
- Familiar with cloud concepts (AWS or similar) and willing to learn services such as SageMaker or Bedrock.
- Strong analytical thinking, good English communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team.
