Your tasks

  • Support the design and implementation of data models and structured information for oncology.
  • Define and standardize clinical, physical, biological, and technical data using Common Data Elements (CDEs).
  • Develop and use automated systems to extract, manage, and analyze unstructured medical data with Natural Language Processing (NLP).
  • Use Large Language Models (LLMs) and agentic AI frameworks for automated data extraction.
  • Conduct retrospective analyses of clinical data to support AI and clinical projects, working with large clinical databases like NIS, NSQIP, or SEER.
  • Act as a link between clinical needs and technical solutions by translating complex medical workflows into strong data structures.
  • Be part of a research team that works across disciplines in a top university hospital.

What you bring

  • MD, M.Sc, or PhD degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, Medicine, Computational Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong technical background in data engineering or data science and medical or clinical knowledge.
  • Proven experience in data semantics, data definition, and health data structuring.
  • Solid background in machine learning and deep learning, especially with NLP and LLMs for medical or biological data.
  • A portfolio of software, open-source projects, or AI platforms (like GitHub) is highly desired.
  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing).
  • Experience in clinical oncology workflows or at comprehensive cancer centers is a plus.
