Lonza is seeking Bioprocess Engineers with a relevant background in Life Sciences and a passion for Biotechnology to join the talent community in Visp, Switzerland. This position is within the Mammalian Business Division, focusing on either Upstream Processing or Downstream Processing. Tasks
- Ensure that operational activities for clinical and/or commercial manufacturing are performed on-time and within given safety and quality standards.
- Act as the functional lead for preparation, manufacturing execution, cleaning and changeover in the assigned area.
- In charge of one or more defined DSP areas (e.g. gain, polishing or filling) for the purification of therapeutic proteins from either mammalian expression systems.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry or related Life Science subject, or Bachelor’s holder with experience in pharma production.
- Knowledge in either USP (such as bioreactors) or DSP units (such as chromatography).
- Couple of years working experience in biomanufacturing required.
- GMP experience and understanding of bioprocess technology.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Good German skills of advantage.
