The actual location of this job is in Stein, AG, Switzerland. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families, if needed. Lead a highly engaged team of operators and line mechanics on a vial filling & lyophilisation line, where your voice matters, decisions are made together, and you can truly shape how the operation runs. In this hands-on leadership role, you'll balance coaching an autonomous team with stakeholder management across Engineering, Supply Chain, MSAT, and Quality in a fast-paced and dynamic GMP environment. This is a fully site‑based role. Working together in person supports close, real‑time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.
Tasks
- Lead and inspire a high-performing team of operators and line mechanics, providing coaching and support while empowering individuals to take ownership and make decisions in a highly autonomous environment.
- Drive the safe, compliant, and efficient execution of vial filling and lyophilisation operations, ensuring production targets and clinical supply commitments are met while maintaining GMP excellence.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, MSAT, Quality, and other stakeholders to align priorities, solve challenges, and ensure seamless manufacturing operations.
- Champion continuous improvement and operational excellence, supporting deviation management, investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of sustainable process improvements.
- Balance a visible presence on the manufacturing floor with strategic planning responsibilities, helping the team navigate a fast-paced, dynamic environment while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration.
Requirements
- Experience in GMP-regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing is essential, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment and confidently balance operational priorities.
- Strong people and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative, approachable leadership style and the ability to build effective partnerships across Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, MSAT, and Supply Chain.
- Fluent German is required; English skills are considered an advantage.
- Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment is highly valued; however, candidates with strong hands-on aseptic fill & finish expertise looking to take the next step into leadership are equally encouraged to apply.
- Experience with aseptic fill & finish operations, particularly vials and lyophilisation processes, is a strong advantage, while a scientific degree is beneficial but not required.
