This is a temporary, full-time position based in Lausanne, Switzerland, offering hands-on experience in food science and the chance to learn and develop your career.

Your tasks

  • Prepare and carry out laboratory experiments by following set protocols and quality standards.
  • Keep clear records of your results and make sure all data is traceable.
  • Organize and manage experimental information in special databases.
  • Help project teams plan and run experiments.
  • Use, look after, and calibrate advanced lab and pilot-scale equipment.
  • Update and develop lab instructions, routine methods, and SOPs.
  • Help create food prototypes and take part in experimental cooking.
  • Support report writing with guidance from senior scientists.

What you bring

  • CFC Chimie, Physique or similar, or a Bachelor HES in Chemistry or Physics.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a lab, food, or applied science setting.
  • Can run experiments, manage data, and follow protocols closely.
  • Curious and analytical, able to solve problems in different ways.
  • Knowledge in particle size distribution, rheology, tensiometry, foam analysis, or dispersion stability is a plus.
  • Knowledge in food liquid processing (like UHT, homogenization), food ingredients (especially dairy, proteins, or hydrocolloids) is a plus.
  • Interest in food innovation, prototyping, and culinary experiments.
  • Fluent in French and able to work independently in an English-speaking setting.
