Your tasks
- Design and build scientific data pipelines for research, including data ingestion, transformation, storage, and analytics.
- Develop and deploy scalable data architectures on Linux or cloud platforms, making sure they perform well and follow data governance rules.
- Work with external developers and internal specialists like data architects, data scientists, AI engineers, and software developers to deliver important projects quickly.
- Join cross-functional research teams to define project goals, choose the best technical solutions, and deliver results.
- Work with other teams to gather requirements and improve data quality, metadata management, and data discoverability.
What you bring
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science with life sciences, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience designing and implementing data pipelines and architectures in research or scientific environments, ideally in the food or pharma industry.
- Strong skills in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and distributed data systems.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for data work and pipeline development.
- Experience with cloud platforms (like Azure) and orchestration tools (such as Airflow or ADF).
- Experience with data lake and data warehouse technologies (such as Snowflake, DBT).
- Experience with Linux and container tools (Openshift, Docker, Podman).
- Knowledge of Agile, DevOps, Git, and CI/CD frameworks.
- Experience with Bioinformatics, Clinical, or Omics data pipelines.
- Experience coding with AI tools (like GitHub Copilot).
- Awareness of agentic architecture frameworks.
- Experience working with external teams and leading project streams.
- Experience mentoring and guiding junior team members.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and knowledge sharing skills.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
