Your tasks
- Take part in detector development for particle physics experiments at CERN and PSI
- Work closely with chip designers, physicists, students, and technicians
- Design detectors and detector readout chips, focusing on digital design from modeling and RTL design to synthesis, timing analysis, optimization, and sign-off
- Do hands-on lab work, including electronics development, chip integration, testing, and characterization
- Supervise an electronics apprentice in their 3rd or 4th year of training who will help with your projects
What you bring
- Master's degree in Electronics or Microelectronics Engineering or equivalent
- Strong experience in digital ASIC design (like Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL)
- Knowledge of at least one scripting or data analysis language (such as Python or MATLAB)
- Open to new ideas, willing to try new things, and eager to learn more skills
- Able to work both alone and with a team
- Good English skills, both spoken and written
- Experience with integrated circuit characterization, analog ASICs, FPGAs, or PCB design is a plus
