Your tasks
- Lead the laboratory technically, scientifically, and personally, including managing the budget
- Plan long-term activities, develop strategies, draft project proposals, and secure third-party funding
- Coordinate and manage large infrastructure projects like IMPACT, QMMC, and SINQ++
- Plan and conduct your own research in neutron and muon science and instrumentation
- Present results and developments through publications, reports, and presentations at events
- Build and manage collaborations with academic and industrial partners
- Support the Center Head in implementing the strategic research goals of the PSI Center for Neutron and Muon Sciences
What you bring
- Internationally recognized scientist or engineer with strong research experience in particle beam and beam line instrumentation, preferably with neutrons and muons
- Strong leadership skills and willingness to develop them further
- Ability to work well in collaborative and diverse teams, enabling others to succeed
- Technical flair and solid technical understanding
- Experience leading large organizations or projects
- Engineering experience, especially with nuclear facilities or spallation sources, is a plus
