Your tasks
- Develop nuclear fuel performance codes using established and advanced methods.
- Model and simulate standard and advanced fuel concepts for different scenarios, including operation, transients, accidents, and storage.
- Verify and validate models, methods, and tools with international benchmarks, post-irradiation exams, and experimental data.
- Support regulators with independent assessments and expert reviews of fuel safety questions.
- Participate in international activities, prepare research proposals, publish scientific articles, and supervise students.
What you bring
- PhD in nuclear engineering or a related field.
- Strong background in nuclear fuel behaviour, fuel performance modelling, and materials under irradiation.
- Experience with fuel performance codes such as FRAPCON/FRAPTRAN, TRANSURANUS, FALCON, BISON, OFFBEAT, or similar.
- Experience in validation, benchmarking, and interpretation of fuel-related experimental results.
- High proficiency in programming and scripting.
- Good knowledge of numerical methods for scientific computing.
- Familiarity with regulator-oriented analysis workflows is a plus.
