Contribute to the development and execution of NMR experiments in analytical chemistry, playing a key role in structure elucidation and interaction studies to support innovative projects in preclinical research.
Tasks
- Plan, run and report NMR experiments for structure elucidation and inter- and intra-molecular interaction studies.
- Apply cutting-edge analytics to support synthesis and formulation development, enabling fast progress for projects and identification of possible challenges.
- Develop and implement new NMR experiments and provide input for future developments of the NMR group.
- Enhance scientific excellence by identifying relevant industry trends and building and maintaining academic partnerships.
- Contribute deep scientific insights to shape the mid- and long-term strategy for NMR within the Roche portfolio.
- Guide the translation of strategic input into actionable team strategies alongside the NMR group and Leadership Team.
- Foster trustful relationships and effective collaboration with internal discovery and technical development teams as well as with external partners.
Requirements
- Masters with a minimum of 5 years or PhD in analytical chemistry or related fields with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of NMR analytics and its applications, with a deep understanding of the technical and theoretical basis beyond standard experiments for liquid and solid state NMR.
- Experience with other methods for biophysical characterization is a plus.
- Hands-on expertise in structure elucidation and interaction studies by NMR for synthetic oligonucleotides and/or peptides.
- Demonstrated expertise in higher order structure studies and aggregation studies.
- Open-minded and highly proactive "just-do-it" approach.
- Enjoy problem-solving and developing new ways of working.
- Comfortably navigate working in a multidisciplinary matrix team.
