Your tasks

  • Lead complex rail infrastructure projects from contract handover to commissioning and close-out
  • Take full responsibility for scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, and risk management
  • Manage projects mainly in B and C categories, depending on size and complexity
  • Apply and maintain project management methodologies, tools, and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, contractual, and regulatory requirements
  • Act as the main contact for customers, railway operators, contractors, suppliers, and authorities
  • Drive proactive risk and opportunity management, including mitigation plans and escalation
  • Monitor and control budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and earned value performance
  • Lead contract and claim management with commercial and legal teams
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams in engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning
  • Implement strong project controls, reporting, and governance
  • Participate in project reviews and ensure corrective actions are completed on time
  • Support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the project management community

What you bring

  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
  • Over 10 years of project management experience in rail infrastructure or similar large-scale projects
  • Experience in software development projects is a plus
  • Proven ability to deliver complex projects within contractual, financial, and schedule limits
  • IPMA B or equivalent project management certification
  • Strong understanding of railway systems and infrastructure
  • Solid experience with safety standards, regulatory needs, and quality management
  • Experience in international project environments
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Fluent in English and German; French or Italian is an advantage
  • Proficient in project management and reporting tools
  • Strong skills in cost management, forecasting, and earned value management
  • Analytical and structured approach to problem solving
  • Ability to interpret contractual, technical, and financial project data
  • High ownership and accountability
  • Ability to coach junior Project Managers
  • Strong leadership presence without formal line management
  • Excellent negotiation, influence, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strategic mindset with hands-on execution
  • Clear, structured communicator at all levels
  • Ability to manage pressure and handle parallel priorities
