Surveillance Assurance & Development (SAD) is responsible for enhancing surveillance capabilities to support SIX Exchange Regulation's mission to detect market abuse and rule violations, including insider trading and market manipulation. SAD bridges market surveillance, business stakeholders, and IT, driving the evolution of surveillance systems, analytical models, and technologies.
Tasks
- Ensure continuity of selected surveillance solutions, data assets, and technical processes currently maintained by the departing Data Engineer, while supporting the gradual transition of some responsibilities to IT.
- Analyse, review, and enhance market surveillance alerts, detection methodologies, scenarios, parameters, and thresholds, applying advanced analytics, statistical methods, and AI/ML techniques to improve surveillance effectiveness.
- Assess the impact of new features, business requirements, and regulatory changes on surveillance processes and systems, and identify required enhancements.
- Evaluate new surveillance approaches, anomaly detection techniques, and emerging technologies, contributing to the evolution of market surveillance capabilities.
- Translate surveillance and business requirements into technical specifications and implementation concepts, and collaborate closely with business and IT teams throughout design, testing, and implementation.
Requirements
- University degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with statistical analysis, anomaly detection, and model evaluation, combined with the ability to assess and improve analytical models, alert calibration, and detection methodologies.
- Strong SQL and Python skills and experience analysing large datasets, ideally using modern analytics platforms such as Azure, Databricks, Spark/PySpark.
- Knowledge of AI-assisted analytics tools and techniques is considered an advantage.
- Experience in financial markets, market surveillance, or transaction reporting is considered a strong asset.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and IT functions.
- Fluent in English (both verbal & writing), German is a plus.
