Your tasks
- Deliver all aspects of research chemistry to support innovation and advance research candidates to development in line with business needs
- Champion a world-class safety culture and drive continuous safety improvements across all chemical activities
- Set high standards for scientific excellence, encouraging innovation and strong methods across the global function
- Translate R&D goals into actionable chemistry strategies that bring long-term business value
- Foster a creative environment that attracts, develops, and keeps scientific talents
- Accelerate innovation by using AI, predictive science, automation, and generative chemistry
- Manage budgets and resources to focus on high-impact work
- Lead the Chemistry Leadership Team and partner with other R&D teams to deliver research goals
- Build strong relationships with cross-functional partners and senior leaders to advance shared priorities
- Develop and maintain partnerships with leading academic and industry organizations
What you bring
- PhD with post-doctoral experience in Chemistry
- Deep knowledge of modern chemistry, including discovery, optimization, synthesis, design, and chemical technologies
- At least 10 years in research leadership roles, ideally in agriculture or life sciences
- Proven success in leading and delivering major or complex projects
- Experience leading large and global teams across different countries
- Role model in science and leadership
- Experience in digital transformation and data-driven innovation in research
- Understanding of external innovation networks and new technologies
- Experience with multiple crop protection product lines and portfolios
- Experience working in a matrix organization
- Ability to define and execute a clear global research chemistry strategy
- Strong results orientation and customer focus
- Fosters learning and growth within teams
- Ability to lead through change, ambiguity, and complexity
