At Syngenta Crop Protection, you help shape the future of sustainable agriculture by building reliable supply chains for innovative microbial products. You drive new product introductions and optimize existing processes, making sure farmers worldwide get the solutions they need. Your tasks
- Build and lead the global microbial supply chain function and make sure it fits well within Syngenta.
- Develop and guide a global supply chain team, offering coaching and growth for both direct and indirect reports.
- Keep supply chains reliable and sustainable for microbial products, handling challenges like biological variability, fermentation scale-up, contamination risks, and shelf-life.
- Work with other teams to set the manufacturing and sourcing strategy for microbial products, including where products are made and make/buy decisions.
- Lead teams to design, scale, and run strong, cost-effective supply chains focused on security, quality, cost, risk management, and asset optimization.
- Create and use global capacity planning strategies to meet short- and long-term needs for volume, growth, and resilience.
- Partner with global commercial teams, giving supply chain input for licensing, M&A, and acquisitions in microbials.
- Advise senior leaders on decisions about biological research, partnerships, and technology ownership across the product lifecycle.
- Manage Sales & Operations Planning, balance demand and supply, track KPIs, and drive improvement across the supply chain.
- Ensure legal, regulatory, HSE, and quality standards are followed, and lead sustainability efforts that support Syngenta’s goals.
What you bring
- University degree in Chemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- At least 10–15 years of industry experience, including senior/global supply chain leadership in an international setting.
- Minimum 3–4 years of senior supply chain management, ideally in end-to-end, global, or matrixed environments.
- Background in fermentation and/or bioprocess operations (e.g. bioprocess engineering, fermentation scale-up, or microbial manufacturing).
- Strong understanding of fermentation processes, microbial strain stability, downstream processing, contamination control, and biological variability.
- Experience with microbial-based supply chains, including upstream and downstream bioprocess manufacturing.
- Experience working with external bioprocess partners and CMOs, including contract and relationship management.
- Leadership and influencing skills in cross-functional, matrixed environments.
- Ability to work well in a fast-changing, high-ambiguity context and lead change and new capabilities.
- Experience in strategy development and turning strategy into supply chain solutions.
- Knowledge of quality management systems for biological products, including shelf-life and regulatory needs.
- Strong financial, commercial, and business sense, balancing technical, operational, and strategic priorities.
