Tasks
- Dive deep into unexplored territories in virology and/or host-pathogen interactions.

Requirements
- Satisfy the eligibility criteria for SNSF starting grants, ERC consolidator grants, or the Professor Dr Max Cloëtta Foundation.
- Demonstrate research outputs that exceed doctoral contributions and redefine boundaries in the field.
- Expertise in one or more of the following: biology of viruses, immunopathology caused by viruses, immune responses to viruses, novel treatment strategies to fight viruses, novel vaccination strategies, data science in virology.
- Develop an internationally competitive research program addressing fundamental or translational questions in virology.
- Clinical interest is ideal; physician scientist with training in infectious diseases is very welcome.
- Ambitious investigator with a vision for research on clinically relevant viral pathogens or any aspect of virus biology or virus–host interactions.
