Your tasks

  • Develop advanced computational methods for catalysis and spectroscopy, with a focus on machine learning (ML)–enhanced approaches
  • Work on projects such as ML-assisted sampling, ML-enhanced vibrational and electronic spectroscopy, embedding methods for complex and catalytic systems, and ML for complex liquids or interfaces
  • Define your precise research topic together with your supervisor, based on your interests and expertise
  • Collaborate closely with experimental and computational groups, including the NCCR Catalysis network

What you bring

  • Excellent Master's degree in chemistry, interdisciplinary natural sciences, physics, or a related field
  • Strong English language skills
  • Ability to learn independently
  • Highly creative, ambitious, and motivated
  • Strong programming skills
  • Experience in electronic structure theory, ab initio molecular dynamics, catalysis, or machine learning is highly desirable
