Tasks

  • Lead and develop a series of studies using chiefly experimental methods to investigate language processing and planning, as well as the wider cognitive background, in a diverse set of languages.
  • Collaborate with a team from the NCCR Work Package “Events” and work under the supervision of Professor Balthasar Bickel.
  • Draw on the NCCR's existing network of collaborations worldwide (NCCR research facilities).
  • Conduct experiments in various places across the world, with the main place of work in Zurich, Switzerland.

Requirements

  • Thorough familiarity with experimental methods and statistical data analysis in language science.
  • Training in psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, and/or linguistics.
  • Keen interest in engaging with evolutionary questions.
  • Experience with cross-cultural fieldwork is an additional strong asset.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English.
