Your tasks
- Lead and develop studies using computational methods, such as phylogenetic techniques, to explore how sound patterns in words change or stay the same over time.
- Use scripting languages for automated data curation.
- Apply probabilistic programming languages, like Stan, in your research.
- Teach for 20% of your working time.
- Work on an initial one-year contract, with a possible extension up to four years by agreement.
What you bring
- Strong data science skills.
- Experience with scripting languages for automated data work.
- Familiarity with probabilistic programming languages (for example, Stan).
- Background in phonology and/or phonetics is desirable.
- Experience with phylogenetic modeling is a plus.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Good spoken and written English skills.
