Your tasks

  • Support all stages of research, including brainstorming, literature reviews, grant writing, reporting, ethical approvals, editing, and writing
  • Assist research assistants with coding and data work
  • Liaise with funders and collaborators
  • Organize events, write reports, plan tasks and timelines
  • Oversee project finances, manage hiring processes, and sub-contracting
  • Co-lead a team of about 5 predoctoral research assistants
  • Take part in teaching-related activities for economics courses and support the Director of Bachelor and Master Studies
  • Organize opportunities for African students applying for PhDs through the Graduate Applications International Network (GAIN)
  • Engage in international activities to diversify the economics discipline
  • Handle administrative tasks such as managing team accounts, licenses, and logistics

What you bring

  • Master's or doctoral degree in economics or a related field (public policy, political science, etc.), completed or in progress
  • Solid understanding of econometrics and impact evaluation
  • Interest in research and evaluation in developing countries
  • Proficiency in data analysis; experience with STATA preferred (R or Python is a plus)
  • Strong writing and editing skills; clear, professional communication in English (German is a plus)
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and willing to learn new skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to support a cooperative team
  • Comfort with administrative tasks
  • Prior experience as a research assistant, project coordinator, team supervisor, or in budget tracking is an advantage but not required
