Full-Stack Software/Data Engineer

NEXUS is a leading provider of innovative solutions in personalized health technology. In this role, you will contribute to the development of data-centric software solutions using modern technologies, supporting research by providing easy access to health data and advancing the healthcare system in Switzerland. You will work on the LOOP Zurich Biomedical Informatics Platform (LOOP BMIP), which streamlines access to clinical data for researchers through distributed software components in a high-security environment. Regular collaboration with partners at participating institutions is part of the role.

• Independently plan, design, and implement data-centric full-stack software solutions from database modeling to API structuring to user interface design and implementation, primarily using Postgres, Django REST Framework, and Vue.js.
• Develop data pipelines to extract, transform, store, and make data available and interoperable.
• Manage and maintain solutions on secure platforms with a high level of automation.
• Manage projects independently and collaborate with various stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to understand data requirements and provide guidance on data structure, availability, and usage.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing data-centric full-stack software solutions.
• Experience in developing web applications using frameworks such as Django REST Framework, Vue.js, or similar.
• Experience in working with Linux/Unix operating systems and writing scripts (e.g. bash, python).
• In-depth knowledge of container technologies such as Docker or similar.
• Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
• Proactive and self-motivated, with a passion for staying updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of German.
